FIRST FLIGHT PICTURES.
June 26, 2003. Success of the first flight of the VOLIRIS 900 Airship prototype at Clermont-Ferrand Airfield.
More test flights are foreseen before the airship can operate from its airfield at Moulins-Montbeugny.
2002
June 26, 2002. VOLIRIS introduces its new airship, the VOLIRIS 900, to more than 300 VIPs.
The Airship has been integrated in the " Y hangar " located in the forest of MEUDON now a registered historical landmark, this hangar is the oldest in the world, where the Airship " La France " started the first closed air travel in 1884. Russian cooperation helped in the renewal of the airships in France. http://www.rosaerosystems.pbo.ru/english/news.html One June 19, 2002 : The 31 meters long envelope is unfolded and inflated with air for inspection and valves/fans integration. June 20, 2002 : Electrical Flight Control testing. June 21, 2002 : First helium inflation. June 22-25 : Control Surfaces and Gondola integration, Weight testing, Ballonet testing. Early July, the airship is disassembled and transported to its new base for the first test flight. |
